September 2022 Member News

Alex Núñez, Esq. '05, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Regulatory Affairs for BGE was sworn in to another term on the Chesapeake Bay Trust Board of Trustees.  Mr. Núñez focuses on BGE’s regulatory agenda with the Public Service Commission and other regulators, and he oversees BGE’s expansion of customer offerings including new products and services. 

Reggie Turner '21 was honored by the African American Association of Financial Advisors as one of their 50 Under 50 and awarded the Excellence in Community Service award. Honorees of the 50 Under 50 award are judged on their accomplishments, contributions to the industry, leadership, and promise. Read more about the award here. 

Helen Propheter '16  started a new position at Hood College as the Director of Corporate and Government Relations.  "In the role, Propheter will build mission-oriented, revenue-generating initiatives in partnership with external organizations including government, industry, colleges and universities, and non-profit sectors that broaden and deepen resources for and engagement with the College." Victor L. Hoskins '96 was named to the 2022 Virginia 500 Power List.  Mr. Hoskins is President and CEO of the Fairfax County (Va.) Economic Development Authority (FCEDA). The FCEDA oversees growth of the largest economy in Virginia. See the full list here.

 

Ellington Churchill '19, Secretary of General Services for the State of Maryland was awarded the prestigious and highly competitive Ray Walton Award for Leadership at the NASCA conference. Over his six years leading General Services, Secretary Churchill has concentrated on implementing transformational change in government operations to align with the Governor’s goal of changing Maryland for the better while at the same time prioritizing fiscal responsibility, economic development, and government reform. Marty Schwartz '14 and Elizabeth Rendon-Sherman '22 will be honored by The Daily Record as Maryland's Most Admired CEOs. This award honors talented business CEOs, higher education leaders and nonprofit executive directors throughout Maryland whose leadership and vision are admired by those around them. A panel of judges selects these winners based on professional accomplishments, community service and the letters of references submitted by co-workers, board members and community leaders showing the CEOs leadership and vision.  Details here.
